What Will be Your Role? 

Written and visual storytelling, content creation, and owning and executing our investment communications strategy to engage and inspire clients and stakeholders. This newly created position will be a key driver in translating our investment platform and solutions to multiple audiences to build and execute a best-in-class investment communications strategy. S/he will support the Investment Research team in telling the story of Crestone’s investments and investment strategy points-of-view. The role’s biggest impact is identifying and executing important investment-related communications opportunities that drive engagement.

The role is expected to have strong investment interest and acumen across a wide range of investment types (traditional and alternatives). S/he will be a “doer”, not a people manager, though will have support from outsourced graphic design resources. This role will also work closely with Crestone’s Client Advisory and Brand/ Communications teams to ensure investment content is client oriented and on-brand.

This role will report to Managing Director, Investment Research, and will ideally be based in Boulder or Denver, CO. Success will be measured by effective management and execution of the investment communications program, the quality of the content created, and, most importantly, the engagement it creates with clients, prospective clients, and other stakeholders.

What Will You be Entrusted to Do? (This is what we know but expect the unexpected)

  • Develop, implement, and execute an investment communications strategy centered on storytelling

  • Work hand in glove with the Investment Research team (attending investment team and Investment Committee meetings) to deeply understand our investments and points-of-view

  • Ensure that the investment content is at the highest standards of institutional investment reporting and drives the audience to be highly engaged, informed, and even inspired

  • Identify new opportunities for investment content marketing to meet the needs of an evolving audience (clients, prospective clients, and stakeholders)

  • Collaborate across departments (Investment Research, Client Advisory, Communications, and Compliance) in ideation and production of investment communication and marketing needs

  • Produce, update, and publish institutional quality investment content, including but is not limited to:

    • monthly Market Views presentations

    • monthly fact sheets

    • quarterly investment commentary (third party fund managers and holistic portfolios)

    • quarterly Access Vehicle presentations (limited partnership alternative investments)

    • ad-hoc portfolio announcements (private fund and portfolio company updates)

    • asset class educational content across equity, fixed income, and alternatives

    • periodic thought pieces (articles, infographics, podcasts, videos) and targeted presentations

  • For all investment-related content, ensure the accuracy, appropriateness, compliance, and quality of content from product, audience, and regulatory perspective

  • Represent Crestone in the marketplace with the highest integrity and professionalism

What Do You Need?

The ideal candidate will have most or all the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services or wealth management, with some experience in production-oriented investment marketing or communications

  • Strong investment interest and broad financial industry knowledge including traditional (equity, fixed income) and alternative investments (private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, etc.)

  • Effective team player who is comfortable working both collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and independently

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

  • Experience with proofreading, fact-checking, and an editorial eye is a major plus

  • Self-starter with planning, organizational, implementation, and follow-up skills

  • Accountability for managing multiple assignments from inception to completion in a dynamic environment

  • Constructive, proactive, results-driven attitude

  • Unquestionable honesty, integrity, and transparency

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Working knowledge of FactSet a plus

  • Fluency in the written and spoken English language is a requirement

 

The starting salary for this position is $135,000.
