As an associate of investment research, Gordon's responsibilities include gathering, organizing, and synthesizing data to support the firm’s investment research decisions.

Gordon has spent over eight years in the financial industry, spanning a wide range of assets including fixed-income, real estate, insurance, and alternative investments. His passion for financial markets and natural inclination has allowed him to split his time between investment operations, management, compliance, legal, and client experience.

Prior to joining Crestone, Gordon was self-employed as an investment analyst and data science consultant. In this role, he worked continuously to develop, implement, and manage a custom-built machine-learning investment trading strategy/system. Before this, he was a senior alternative asset analyst at the self-directed IRA firm Pacific Premier Trust.

Gordon received his Bachelor of Science in finance from Colorado State University. Gordon also holds a statistics and data science certificate from Galvanize.

WHAT QUALITY OF YOURS MAKES YOU BEST SUITED FOR WHAT YOU DO?
I believe my analytical and critical thinking skills make me best suited for what I do. As a financial professional, I am constantly evaluating data, analyzing trends, and making strategic decisions based on a complex set of variables. My ability to think critically and approach problems from different angles allows me to identify opportunities and mitigate risks effectively. I also have a strong attention to detail, which is essential in the financial industry.
WHAT PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
I built a machine learning ensemble of supervised and unsupervised models in Python/SQL. I applied the system to the broader equity market to generate a weighted portfolio to invest in daily. The system was implemented for one year and outperformed the S&P 500 Index.
