Mr. Kramer has over 40 years of experience in the investment industry.

He was founder, President and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Kensington Investment Group (KIG) from 1993 through its purchase by Forward Management in 2010. KIG managed over $1 billion across hedge funds, mutual funds and separate accounts and was an early leader in long/short real estate securities strategies.

Prior to founding KIG, Mr. Kramer was Senior Vice President at Liquidity Fund Investment Corporation (LF), where he was responsible for directing the research, marketing and trading activities of the firm. LF managed private equity funds that specialized in acquiring illiquid real estate partnership interests at discounts to break-up value.

Mr. Kramer began his career in 1980 as an associate with former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan's economic consulting firm, Townsend-Greenspan & Co. in New York City. He subsequently worked as an account executive at Sutro & Co. and Prudential-Bache Securities in San Francisco.

Mr. Kramer received his Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, receiving the Consolidated Capital Award award for his work in real estate finance while at the Business School. 

He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York, Oneonta, where he received the Royal F. Netzer Award for the most outstanding academic achievement in liberal studies.

John Kramer is currently the Managing Member of KRG, LLC, which he founded in 2010 to focus on investment research and wealth management.   

John has taught classes on investment strategy at UC Berkeley Extension and served as an Adjunct Professor teaching the Lean Launch Pad curriculum at the UC Berkeley Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences program.
