As a Director of Business Operations, Monica works with the COO to manage and drive forward key strategic operational initiatives across the firm. Additionally, she is responsible for the design and implementation of critical operational processes, ensuring full alignment and accountability.
Before joining Crestone, Monica was the Special Assistant to the CEO and Civic Engagements at Guild Education, winner of Fast Company’s 2020 World Changing Ideas Awards and a certified B-Corp education platform, founded to bridge the gap between education and employment for the 88 million working adults in the U.S. in need of upskilling for the future of work.
Prior to Guild Education, Monica was Chief of Staff at Zayo Group, leading the company’s efforts around community engagement, diversity and inclusion, university recruitment, business intelligence and executive engagement. Before Zayo, she served as the Senior Advisor to Michael B. Hancock, Mayor of Denver to develop strategic partnerships with leading politicians, business leaders, and community liaisons to raise the profile of the Mayor, his priority initiatives, and the City and County of Denver as a world-class international city.
Monica attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington.
Apart from Crestone, Monica was most recently involved in the community as a member of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Denver Partnership. Monica has a loving husband of 29 years, two handsome young men, and two sometimes-sweet dogs. She loves traveling, exploring restaurants, and watching sunrises. She finished the 2002 Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Denver Race for Cure as one of the top 5 women finalists with a personal record for a 5K.
