Given Diego’s involvement in helping solve one of the world’s biggest epidemics - the AIDS virus - Diego joined our call to compare and contrast his experience in the development of therapies for AIDS to the challenges we are facing with therapies for COVID-19. Diego played an integral role as a participant in Crestone’s proprietary healthcare COVID-19 survey, sent to 20 leading scientists and venture investors in the healthcare space weekly since the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in early March 2020.

As the Managing Principal, President and Chief Executive Officer for Sterling Organization and its related companies, Brian co-founded the firm in 2007. Brian joined us to provide a differentiated view on investing in U.S. retail real estate as part of a contrarian strategy. He spoke to the impacts of an unprecedented global pandemic on accelerating the secular decline of retail and how he views the future of brick and mortar retail.

David Zervos is a renowned Chief Market Strategist for Jefferies LLC and Chief Investment Officer for the Global Macro Division of Jefferies Investment Advisers, LLC (“JIA”). As one of Wall Street’s sharpest, David previously worked as an economist and advisor to the central bank. David joined Jefferies in 2010 after spending 2009 as a visiting advisor at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. Prior to visiting the Federal Reserve, he held a variety of research, sales and trading positions in the private sector, most recently managing global macro portfolios for Brevan Howard and UBS O’Connor.
